June 5, 2013 – G&M and its employees helped promote the Budweiser water savings program “America Made Better” by skipping shaving, turning the water off while brushing teeth, or shortening showers by 20 minutes from May 27-June 5.  Twenty-one employees participated in the “No Shave Contest.”  Also, 66% of employees pledged to save water, which totaled 7,720 gallons of water saved between May 27-June 5.   In addition, Anheuser-Busch’s World Environment Day was June 5th.  G&M employees participated by volunteering to help preserve and protect the environment by planting 8 maple trees at Lake Storey Park and by cleaning up the lake and surrounding area.



November 19, 2012 – G&M Distributors, Inc. recently held its 5th annual company food drive.  Organizers of the food drive were Marlo Abernathy and Shelby Attaway.

During the two week food drive, November 5-November 16, all employees were encouraged to donate non-perishable food items for the FISH Food Pantry in Galesburg.  In addition, a challenge was issued to each department within the company.  The overall individual winner and team winner who donated the most items will be announced at the company’s annual employee Christmas party.

The company is pleased to announce that this year’s drive collected 2,736 items, surpassing last year’s total by 306 items.

Employees of G&M continue to give back with their annual Christmas gifts.  This year’s recipient is Community Living Options and Achievement Unlimited, Inc.   The gifts are for adults with special needs; many of them have no families and would not have received anything for Christmas.
